Plug and Play Semiconductors Expo
George Shrouder had the privilege of joining industry leaders on the Nitride Global Incorporated panel at the Plug and Play Semiconductors Expo in Orlando, where discussions centered on the commercialization of Aluminum Nitride and Aluminum Oxi-Nitride as key materials shaping the future of power technology. The panel, led by Mahyar Khosravi, P.Eng., CEO of Nitride Global, featured Prof. Jennifer Hite of Florida State University, Dr. David Huitink of the University of Arkansas, and was expertly moderated by Sterling Cohen.

We have been invited to Yotta 2025, the premier event uniting the global digital infrastructure industry. DOE: Grid Deployment Office
Our leadership team, Henry Lee (CEO), George Shrouder (COO), and Terry Boston (Chairman), met with Director Nick Elliot at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grid Deployment Office to present the HVDC vision. The GDO requested a formal roadmap outlining our deployment strategy, including a funded pilot study, feasibility analysis, and stakeholder engagement, culminating in a shovel-ready pilot and a strategic path to modernize America’s energy infrastructure.

E&M 2026: HVDC America by GRID FORCE
GRID FORCE is in the planning stages of E&M 2026: HVDC America, an upcoming conference aimed at shaping the future of high-voltage direct current infrastructure in the U.S. We are working closely with E&M and collaborating with leading utilities, technology developers, policymakers, and investors to assemble the right participants, ensuring the event becomes a pivotal platform for advancing HVDC deployment and strategic energy solutions.

Formation of HVDC AMERICA
OMNIPOWER spearheaded the creation of HVDC America, a national coalition formed to coordinate and accelerate the deployment of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) infrastructure across the United States. Established to unify utilities, technology developers, manufacturers, and policymakers, HVDC America was founded with the goal of aligning stakeholders, standardizing practices, and advancing next-generation energy infrastructure at scale.

Terry Boston: Appointed to Chairman
Terry Boston, former CEO of PJM Interconnection and a veteran energy leader with decades of experience in grid operations and policy, has been appointed to Chairman of the Board for OMNIPOWER. His deep expertise in managing complex energy infrastructure and guiding large-scale projects will provide strategic leadership as OMNIPOWER accelerates its mission to transform power delivery and advance next-generation HVDC and energy technologies.

NREL - Letter of Commitment
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) provided a Letter of Support for our ARPA-E proposal, offering access to their ARIES simulation platform to model and optimize HVDC system performance. NREL will also assist in setting up a digital twin of the proposed system, enabling real-time analysis, predictive validation, and performance optimization to accelerate the development of next-generation, high-efficiency HVDC infrastructure.

NASA Langley Research Center provided a Letter of Support for our ARPA-E proposal, committing their laboratory capabilities to support testing and validation. With world-class expertise in advanced materials and high-reliability power systems, NASA Langley will play a critical role in advancing conductor performance and accelerating the development of next-generation HVDC technologies.

Georgia Tech - Letter of Commitment
Georgia Tech, home to one of the world’s most advanced research ecosystems for power and digital infrastructure, provided OMNIPOWER with a Letter of Intent (LOI) in support of our ARPA-E proposal. Georgia Tech is globally recognized for breakthroughs in energy technologies, including the development of a fast-action DC circuit breaker capable of operating up to ten times faster than conventional designs, an innovation critical to the future of multi-terminal HVDC grids.

Dominion Energy - Letter of Commitment
As part of our ARPA-E proposal for the Multilevel HVDC Valve, OMNIPOWER secured a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Dominion Energy, one of the largest regulated utilities in the United States. Dominion’s support underscores both the market demand and industry confidence in OMNIPOWER’s HVDC innovation, strengthening our proposal with a committed utility partner ready to explore real-world deployment opportunities.

DOE: ARPA-E Encouragement Letter
In late 2024, OMNIPOWER submitted a funding application to the U.S. Department of Energy’s ARPA-E program, proposing the development of a Multilevel HVDC Valve, a breakthrough technology designed to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability in next-generation high-voltage direct current transmission. In January 2025, ARPA-E responded with a formal Letter of Encouragement, inviting OMNIPOWER to advance to the next stage and submit a full proposal for consideration.
