George Shrouder is the Chief Operating Officer and a co-founder of OMNIPOWER. He co-founded the company in 2024 with Henry Lee and Johnny Pham. His work centers on doubling the capacity of the U.S. grid by upgrading transmission corridors from AC to HVDC - nearly 100,000 miles of bulk transmission line are viable for upgrade.

George serves as Principal Investigator and directs OMNIPOWER's U.S. Department of Energy ARPA-E award: grants, reporting, partner coordination and risk. The program he directs includes Georgia Tech as a named subrecipient and a funded work authorization with a U.S. national laboratory.

He was a featured speaker at the World Utilities Congress in Abu Dhabi, presenting HVDC electrification pathways and the role of HVDC in meeting the energy demand of AI, advanced manufacturing and urban growth. Through a strategic network spanning government, utilities and the data center industry, he is developing the Grid to Chip Partnership, a public-private collaboration focused on upgrading the grid as a feature of the AI boom.

His background spans strategic business development, financial analysis, market translation and risk management, including carbon credit methodologies, across multiple sectors of the utility industry. He has led cross-functional teams deploying advanced technology solutions, and he builds partnerships with national laboratories, research universities and technology companies to advance HVDC technology in lockstep with global adoption. A systems thinker and network builder, he balances innovation with operational efficiency, using data-driven analysis to protect the organization from strategic and financial risk.
